Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens located in Washington, D.C. was purchased by Marjorie Merriweather Post in 1955. She was an avid collector who decided to share her treasures with the public in order to educate and delight! In 1977, her home was opened as a public institution. Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens maintains the estate and Marjorie Merriweather Post's collections. http://www.hillwoodmuseum.org
