COVID-19-related Service Announcements- Grab-and-Go Circulation Services
While the book stacks will be closed for in-person browsing, patrons can request circulating materials for pickup at the Library Circulation Desk located on the first floor of the Library. Instructions for requesting physical materials from our circulating collections:
To request a Post Library Circulating Book for pickup:
Return a Post Library Book
In accordance with expert-recommended health and safety guidelines, books returned will be quarantined for days before they are handled by library staff members.
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
Your Long Island University ID card also serves as your library card. To borrow books, bring your card to the Circulation Desk to activate your library account and fill out a Patron Registration form. A free library card is available to Brookville residents. Please bring your card with you whenever you wish to use library materials.
To obtain your card:
LIU card holders (students, faculty, and staff) have access to everything: borrowing privileges, databases, and interlibrary loan.
Alumni, Continuing Education students, and Brookville residents are allowed borrowing privileges with an LIU card, but no access to databases or interlibrary loan.
Students who need extended library privileges to complete theses or other assignments must have the Extended Privilege Form completed by their department. Circulation will keep the form on file. Students must bring their LIU ID cards when checking out books.
LIU Students, Faculty, and Staff need only their ID card to check out books. They can access all of the library's online resources with the same username and password that they use for their MyLIU and email accounts. No barcode is needed.
Other users, who are affiliated with LIU, but do not receive a University ID number will need a library barcode. They must come to the Circulation/Reserve Desk and fill out a Patron Registration Form.
