Bibliometrics: Databases

Google Scholar provides access to scholarly literature available on the web. Access to the full text of articles is either available free of charge or restricted behind a publisher's pay wall. For access to full text, open "Settings," click on "Library Links," search for "Long Island University" and check the box for "Long Island University Libraries - Find FullText@LIU."

Scopus is a abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature: scientific journals, books and conference proceedings. Scopus features a bibliometrics tool to track citations over time for a set of authors or documents, view h-index (publication impact) for specific authors, assess trends in search results, analyze an author's publishing output, and gain insight into journal performance.
