Nursing Research for Evidence-Based Practice: Evidenced-Based Practice

What is Evidence-Based Practice?

Evidence-Based Nursing practice (EBN) is a continuous evaluation process that begins and ends with the patient. It is an ongoing assessment where evidence, nursing theory, and clinical expertise are critically evaluated, in conjunction with patient involvement, to provide optimal nursing care for an individual or population.

Evidence-based practice (EBP) is an essential component of nursing because it promotes safety and quality by helping nurses make informed decisions that improve patient outcomes.
