Journal Search Tips

Use to find out whether or not a journal exists in our collection.

  • Very useful when you have a citation for a specific article, because you can go directly to the journal that contains it.

  • Note: search defaults to: BEGINS WITH so you must know the exact start of the journal title.

  • Use: CONTAINS if you only know one or two words in the journal title.

Journals

If you want to know if the library has access to a particular journal title, such as the Public Admnistration Review, click on Periodicals from the homepage and enter the name.

A list of databases that contain full text articles from the journal will appear along with the time period for which the database provides the articles

If an entry indicates a journal is only in "LIU Libraries Periodicals & Microfrom" follow the link for specific campus holdings.  This means that the library holds the journal in print or microform format. Click the link to view the journal title in the Library catalog, LIUCAT.
