Journal Search Tips

Use to find out whether or not a journal exists in our collection.

  • Very useful when you have a citation for a specific article, because you can go directly to the journal that contains it.

  • Note: search defaults to: TITLE STARTS WITH, so you must know the exact start of the journal title.

  • Use: TITLE CONTAINS ALL WORDS if you only know one or two words in the journal title.

Journals

If you want to know if the library has access to a particular journal title, such as the Public Admnistration Review, click on Periodicals from the homepage and enter the name.

If it indicates that it is "in LIU Libraries Periodicals Collections [Print/Microform, follow the link for specific campus holdings]" this means that the library holds the journal in print or microform format. Click the link to view the journal title in the Library catalog, LIUCAT. Health Care and Public Administration journals cover a wide range of subjects; try the Browse journals links to review subjects that might pertain to your research.

ILLIAD InterLibrary Loan account Signup

If the Library does not have the journal and the article you need, order it on Interlibrary Loan.

By signing up for an ILLIAD account you streamline the process of ordering items. You can also track the status of your requests and receive articles electronically.
